Easter in Nursery

We have been busy bunnies this week in nursery. To celebrate Easter we have been making our own Easter baskets and practising writing our names and working on our cutting skills. We have also made chocolate nests. We especially enjoyed the Easter bonnet parade and as a special treat, we also had an Easter egg hunt.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Friday 30th March was our traditonal Easter Bonnet Parade. The whole school, including nursery, took part in the parade. The juniors came to see all our wonderful hats too.

Toy Workshop

Y1D, 1J and 1/2CG all took part in a Toy worshop to support their topic “Toys.” The day was lots of fun and was linked to science, design technology and history. The children prepared, assembled and decorated their own wooden toys.

Fun Run News

On 30th January 2012 we had a special assembly in school. Miss Thatcher presented staff from local hospitals with a cheque for £933.60, which all year groups help to raise.

Harvest Festival 2011

Our Harvest Festival production of “The Little Red Hen” was held at St.Peter’s Church, Hale. The Year 2 children put on an excellent performance, but the whole school joined in, each year group sang their own special song. Many thanks to Reverend Lane for allowing us to use the church and all the staff who worked very hard helping the children prepare. Here are a few photographs from that performance:

Children in Need 2011

On Friday 18th November 2011 we will be fund raising for Children in Need. Children are asked to come to school in their own clothes and bring a donation. This year the theme is spots.

The Nursery will be fund raising by wearing their pyjamas and bringing their favourite teddy. They will be having their own “teddy bear pyjama party“.

All donations, however small, are very much appreciated.

2P and 2H visit Manchester Art Gallery.

Operation Christmas Child

If you can give a gift to a needy child this Christmas then please support our chosen charity Operation Christmas Child. Shoeboxes will need to be at school by Tuesday 15th November. You child has brought home a leaflet about this annual charity activity which provides international relief for overseas children who are living in difficulty. Please note the £2.50 donation should be sent WITH but not IN the shoebox. Thank you again for your support.
